Mumbai Cricket Association
Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has taken a strong against five players regarding fraud documentation in the game. The players, Soham Panwalkar, Mohammad Faiz Rathod, Amey Chemburkar, Govind Yadav and Altamash Khan are said to have given false documents at the time of registration. The complaint was filed at the Marine Drive police station.
As per a statement issued by MCA on Tuesday,”The association is continuing on the path of investigating different cases of players registered with suspicious documents and will proceed with lodging police complaints against the guilty players.”
Earlier this year MCA, 16 over aged players participating in summer camps in U-14, U-16, U-19 and U-23 category were banned because of giving fake birth certificates. As per the rule, every cricketer needs to register with the association giving original and genuine certificates in order to get an opportunity to represent Mumbai in various tournaments.
Also, a player seeking registration must be a genuine resident of the area under the jurisdiction of MCA, namely Mumbai and Thane districts (extending upto Palghar district in the western suburbs, Badlapur in the central suburbs and Navi Mumbai upto and including Kharghar).
