The t-20 World Cup is full of surprises as the Netherlands beats South Africa and cause of that Pakistan’s route to the semi-final opens.
New Zealand and England have already taken the seats in the semi-final from group A.
November 6th was the day for the remaining two teams to be selected from group B.
Netherlands v/s South Africa
South Africa won the toss and elected to field first.
Stephan Myburgh and Max O’Dowd opened the innings for them.
They both gave a firing start to the team.
The top four batsmen, despite the wickets loss with their short knocks, managed to put up a total of 158/4.
Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma opening for South Africa weren’t able to do well.
Quinton lost his wicket soon and wasn’t late when Temba also lost his wicket.
South Africa’s batting seemed to fail in front of the bowling attack of the Netherlands.
Netherlands bowlers stopped them at a total of 145 runs as they won by 13 runs.
With this win, the Netherlands sent South Africa out of the World Cup and made it easier for Pakistan and Bangladesh.
With their win against South Africa, India automatically qualified for the semi-finals.
Bangladesh v/s Pakistan
The Netherlands has already made it easier for them, as whoever wins the match will directly qualify for the semi-finals.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.
Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das opened the innings for them.
Pakistan’s pace attack coming back in form didn’t let the openers settle down quickly.
Shaheen Shah Afridi in the third over itself gave them the first breakthrough.
Najmul tried to put up some runs on the board as wickets kept going from the other end.
Shadab Khan striking again took two back-to-back wickets.
The bowlers stopped them at a score of just 127/8.
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam’s opening for Pakistan gave them a great start.
The batting line-up didn’t disappoint as they were able to chase the total by the 18th over itself.
Pakistan won the match by five wickets and made their way to the further stage.
