Afghanistan and Ireland played their 4th T-20I on August 15th in Belfast.

The five matches of the T-20I series started on August 9th.

Ireland won the first two matches by a short margin and took the lead by 2-0 in the series.

Afghanistan, making a comeback, won the last T-20I by 22 runs and kept themselves alive in the series.

To win the series, AFGH needs to win all the remaining matches, whereas IRE needs to win just a single game out of the three to win the series.

The 4th ODI got delayed due to heavy rainfall in Ireland.
After the rain stopped, the match was converted into an 11-over match.

IRE won the toss and elected to field first.

First Innings

Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz opened the innings for AFGH.

They both gave a powerful start to the AFGH team as Gurbaz also hit two massive sixes and three fours.

Barry McCarthy didn’t let Gurbaz’s innings grow and create problems for his team as he took his wicket.

Gareth Delany, in the next over, took the wickets of Ibrahim and Zazai in two continuous deliveries, going for a hat-trick.

Najibullah Zadran, in between, played a beautiful knock of 50 runs and Rashid Khan of 31 runs.

Second Innings

Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie opened the innings for IRE.

They both gave a stable start to the IRE team when Azmatullah took the wicket of Andy.

The AFGH bowlers didn’t let any of the IRE batsmen settle down as Fareed Ahmad took two wickets in the fourth over, pushing back the IRE team.

George Dockrell, in between, played a wonderful knock of 41 and tried to chase the total.

Naveen-ul-Haq took two consecutive wickets in the eighth over got the IRE team into serious trouble.

But Dockrell’s knocks weren’t able to save the match as no other batsmen stood with him.

The AFGH bowlers stopped the IRE batsmen at a score of 105 runs.

Fareed Ahmad took three wickets, and Rashid Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets each.

In the end, Rashid Khan was named the Player of the Match.
