Corruption is always a threat for any organisation. Whether it happens in our country or in any field. To make this year’s world cup better and fair. ICC has now held a discussion with Interpol. Interpol, also known as the International Criminal police organisation enables police in over 194 member countries to work together to fight international crime.

The general manager of ICC Alex Marshall had visited the head office of INTERPOL just to ensure that there would be better cooperation between the 2 organisations.

In talking he said, “Our focus is on the education of players and prevention and disruption of corruptors. Where our enquiries reveal criminal offences have been committed, we will refer this to the relevant law enforcement organisations and this makes Interpol an important partner for us,

Jose de Gracia, Assistant Director of Interpol’s Criminal Networks unit also had a conversation with Press and said, “Sport brings people together, but criminals looking to make large profits can undermine its integrity. Our meetings and cooperation with partners such as the ICC help us shape a collaborative, holistic response,”

It will be interesting to see how these two organisation worked together to save the biggest stage of cricket which is the WORLD CUP 2019
