Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders played against each other in match number 41 of IPL 2022 on 28th April at Wankhede Stadium Mumbai.

The last time they played against each other was in match number 19th in which Capitals beat Knight Riders by a margin of 44 runs.

After losing their respective matches both will be looking for a win. Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first. Now it was time for Knight Riders to score good runs and give them a big total.

The first innings started and soon went the soon wicket in the second over itself Chetan Sakariya bowled the great batsmen Aaron Finch. As the first wicket fell the second one continued in a short time, followed by the third and fourth. The Knight Riders were in great trouble and one by one their wickets were going back to Pavillion. The outstanding bowling performance by Mustafizur Rahman and Kuldeep Yadav didn’t let them score many runs. Mustafizur took three wickets whereas Kuldeep took four major wickets of the Knight Riders, both together destroying their batting line-up.

While there stood Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana the two young Indians who tried hard to put up a fighting total against the Capitals. The great knock of 42 runs by Iyer and the amazing fifty by Rana took their team to a score of 146 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

The bowlers did their job well in limiting the batsmen of Knight Riders to a low score, now it was time for the batsmen of Capitals to do their job.

As the second Inning started to do so did the fall of wickets in the first ball itself Capitals lost their first wicket in the form of Prithvi Shaw and, soon enough in the next over they lost their second wicket as Mitchell Marsh gave an easy catch to Shreyas Iyer. Then David Warner stood for his team with Lalit Yadav and made a partnership of 65 runs a partnership saving the game for them. It wasn’t long enough when the bowlers of Knight Riders brought them back in the game by taking wickets in a short interval of time. Umesh Yadav took three crucial wickets for his team and tried hard to bring them back and near to win but Axar Patel and Rovman Powell didn’t seem to give up, and their firing knocks by them, at last, led their team to victory.

As the match ended, Kuldeep Yadav of Delhi Capitals was chosen as the Man Of The Match.
