Anil Kumble, former Indian spinner and head coach, has resigned from his post earlier today. No replacement has been announced yet and BCCI will soon take a decision on the same.
There have been rumours floating about a rift between Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble since a bit of time. Both of them have denied from the rift, however, a number of media reports suggested otherwise. Earlier in the day, Indian team had left London for West Indian tour and Anil Kumble did not accompany the team. Since then, there were speculations that all is not well in the team and some big announcement was expected.
CAC (Cricket Advisory Committee), which consists of VVS Laxman, Saurav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar had met Virat Kohli recently to know his view about the coach. In the meeting, Virat Kohli had clearly said that the relationship with Anil Kumble could not be repaired. The West Indies tour starts from June 23rd. Indian team will be without a full time coach for the first time in years.
