Finishing the year on a high, Ravi Ashwin has bagged top ICC awards including ICC Cricketer of the year and ICC Test Cricketer of the year along with winning Sir Gary Sobers Trophy. The announcement was made by ICC earlier today.
Ravichandran Ashwin has had an amazing year with both bat and ball. He scored 612 runs along with claiming 72 wickets in the calendar year. Making him one of the most successful bowlers and all-rounders in the time frame. Along with it, he became the second fastest to 24 five-wicket hauls.
Speaking on the awards, R Ashwin was thankful to a lot of people whom he thinks have been instrumental in his journey. He stated that the last two years and specially this year has been very special and he feels honored to be awarded with ICC Cricketer of the year.
