Australia Clinches T20I Series with a 3-0 Sweep Over Pakistan.

Pakistan’s tour of Australia consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is, offering a mix of exciting contests. While Pakistan dominated the ODI series with a 2-1 win, Australia responded strongly in the T20Is, showcasing their dominance with a 3-0 series sweep.

The T20I series began with Australia securing a convincing victory in the first match. The second match, played on November 16, saw Australia clinch the series with a 13-run win. With the series already decided, the final T20I served as an opportunity for Australia to complete the clean sweep, and they did so easily.

Match Details

The third and final T20I of the series took place at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, hoping to post a challenging total.

Pakistan Innings

Sahibzada Farhan and Babar Azam opened the innings for Pakistan, aiming for a strong start. However, Spencer Johnson struck early, dismissing Sahibzada in the second over. Haseebullah Khan joined Babar Azam, and the duo looked to stabilize the innings but could only manage a brief partnership before Adam Zampa removed Haseebullah.

The Australian bowlers maintained their grip on the game, taking wickets at regular intervals. Babar Azam stood tall amid the collapse, but the lack of support from other batters proved costly. Pakistan’s innings folded for a meager total of 117 runs. Aaron Hardie led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Spencer Johnson and Adam Zampa chipped in with two wickets each.

Australia Innings

In reply, Australia’s openers Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk faced a fiery start from Shaheen Shah Afridi, who dismissed Matthew early. Jake soon followed, losing his wicket to Jahandad Khan. Despite the early setbacks, Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis steadied the innings.

Stoinis played a match-winning knock, scoring 61 runs and guiding Australia towards an easy win. Josh Inglis departed midway, but Tim David joined Stoinis to finish the chase comfortably. Australia reached the target with ease, sealing the series 3-0.

Key Performers

Marcus Stoinis was named Player of the Match for his impactful innings, while Spencer Johnson’s consistent performances earned him the Player of the Series award.
