The women’s cricket teams of Australia and New Zealand are ready to make their return to the field for the first time since March. The return will be in a condensed series in Brisbane in September, as per Cricket Australia on Saturday.

Cricket Australia said that their cricket season was likely to be played in hubs and in a concentrated period of time to comply with strict coronavirus protocols earlier this week.

New Zealand will arrive in Australia on September 9. The team will undergo a 14-day quarantine period.

Australian players from the States of New South Wales and Victoria will arrive in Brisbane on September 6. They will also enter the quarantine period before joining the rest of the squad on September 20.

The first T20 game will take place at Allan Border Field on September 26, with further matches on September 27 and 30. One-day internationals are likely to take place on October 3, October 5 and October 7.

This confirmation might ease some pressure on Cricket Australia. It faced a revolt from broadcaster this week. The broadcasters were unhappy with the lack of clarity. They had even threatened to terminate their television contract.
