Australia wins the third test match with an outstanding bowling performance

The third test match between India and Australia was played in Indore where the Australian bowlers performed outstandingly.

Match Details

The match started on the 1st of March as India won the toss and elected to bat first.

India first Innings

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill opened the Innings for the Indian team.

They both gave a stable start to the team when Matthew Kuhnemann took the wicket of Rohit.

After the first breakthrough, the Indian team started to lose wickets at frequent intervals of time.

None of the Indian batsmen were able to stand in front of the Australian bowling attack.

The Australian bowlers took all the wickets of the Indian batsmen at a score of 109.

Matthew Kuhnemann took a five wickets haul as Nathan Lyon took three wickets.

Australia First Innings

Travis Head opened the Innings alongside Usman Khawaja for the Australian side.

The Indian bowlers didn’t let them settle as they took the wicket of Travis soon.

Khawaja kept on going as he completed his half-century.

The top order of the Australian team chased the runs scored by the Indian team and started to get some leads.

By day one end Australia was at a score of 156/4.

The Indian bowlers were not able to take many wickets.

Only Ravindra Jadeja took all of the four wickets alone.

The next day Ravichandran Ashwin and Umesh Yadav took three wickets each and ended the Australian innings at the score of 197.

India second Innings

The Australian team took the lead by 88 runs.

In the second Innings, the opening partnership failed again as Gill soon lost his wicket.

Nathan Lyon alone takes the wickets for the Australian team.

With the knock by Cheteshwar Pujara of 59 runs India reached a total of 163 runs.

Nathan Lyon the lone wolf of the Australian team took eight wickets of the Indian team.

Australia second Innings

Australia just needed 76 runs to win the match.

Usman Khawaja and Travis Head opened the Innings for them.

Ravichandran Ashwin took the wicket of Usman in the second ball itself.

After that Travis and Marnus’ partnership made them win the match by nine wickets.
