Bangladesh Strikes Back in Second Test to Draw Series Against West Indies.

The two-match Test series between Bangladesh and West Indies ended in a draw as Bangladesh secured a resounding victory in the second Test.

The Bangladesh tour of the West Indies featured two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. The hosts took an early lead in the series with a win in the first Test, but Bangladesh’s spirited comeback in the second match ensured the series ended evenly.

Match Details

The second Test match was held from November 30 to December 3. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.

Bangladesh First Innings

Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Shadman Islam opened the innings for Bangladesh but failed to provide a solid start.

Kemar Roach dismissed Mahmudul early and struck again in his next over, leaving Bangladesh in trouble. Shadman fought hard, scoring a half-century, but lacked support from the other end.

Bangladesh managed to post 164 runs, with Shadman’s contribution standing out. Jayden Seales took four wickets, while Shamar Joseph and Kemar Roach chipped in with three and two wickets, respectively.

West Indies First Innings

West Indies’ opening pair, Kraigg Brathwaite and Mikyle Louis, also struggled to provide stability as Bangladesh’s bowlers kept up the pressure.

Wickets fell at regular intervals, with only the top three batters managing to score in double digits. The rest of the lineup faltered, and the team was bowled out for just 146 runs.

Nahid Khan delivered a stellar performance, claiming five wickets to keep the West Indies in check.

Bangladesh Second Innings

Mahmudul and Shadman started the second innings for Bangladesh, but Mahmudul was dismissed in the first over. Shahadat Hossain and

Shadman steadied the innings briefly before Shahadat lost his wicket.

Jaker Ali then stepped up and played a crucial knock, scoring 91 runs to anchor the innings. His efforts, combined with smaller contributions, helped Bangladesh set a target of 287 runs after being bowled out for 268.

Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach took three wickets each for the hosts.

West Indies Second Innings

Chasing 287 runs for a series win, West Indies stumbled early as Mikyle Louis was dismissed cheaply. Kraigg Brathwaite and Kavem Hodge tried to build a partnership, with Kavem completing a gritty half-century.

However, their efforts weren’t enough, as the rest of the batting lineup collapsed under pressure. West Indies were bowled out for 185 runs, falling short by 101 runs.

Taijul Islam was the hero for Bangladesh, taking five wickets to seal the victory and level the series 1-1.
