The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended IPL 2025 until further notice amid rising concerns.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) was on the verge of just getting over, but due to the India–Pakistan war, the tournament has been suspended for now.
The season had completed more than half of its journey and was just about to get its top four.
The fight started to get intense, and teams were getting focused on getting a spot in the top four.
Gujarat Titans, leading the table with 16 points, followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru with 16 points as well, had almost made their way into the semi-finals.
Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders were giving each other a tough fight to finish in the top four.
India–Pakistan War
The war started when the terrorists attacked the people of India in Pahalgam.
They killed plenty of people in the name of religion and started the war.
India first stopped the Indus Water Treaty, cancelled the visas of all Pakistanis, and gave a time duration of two days for all Pakistani people to go back.
Then, in response, India launched Operation Sindoor, pushed into Pakistan, and destroyed all the base camps of the terrorists.
Pakistan started supporting them and tried to get into the Indian border, which increased the tension and led to war.
Several drone fights took place, along with air attacks.
The INS Vikrant, India’s leading and best navy ship, recently destroyed the Karachi Port in Pakistan.
BCCI
Seeing the increase in the situation, and with Pakistan also attempting to hit the stadiums, though the Indian forces stopped them, the BCCI decided to suspend the ongoing 18th edition of the IPL until the situation gets under control.
They are currently working on sending the respective players back to their home countries safely and securely.
The cricketing community stands united in support of peace and safety, hoping for a quick resolution to the crisis.
Fans across the globe have expressed concern and are awaiting further updates from the BCCI.
