Covid-19 has got another cricket and this time it is the man playing for Brisbane Heat, Mujeeb Ur Rehman. After travelling from Kabul the 19-year-old was quarantined before the BBL could even start.

The bowler ranked No.2 in the T20 format of the game within the world, Mujeeb reached Brisbane last week but reported symptoms during his mandatory quarantine in the week. According to a press report Mujeeb is being treated and having his recovery at a Queensland hospital and is under observation until he is found negative.

Covid-19 concerns around Mujeeb came hebdomadally out from the Heat’s season opener against the Melbourne Stars in Canberra, meaning Mujeeb could well miss the Heat’s two matches within the Canberra. It is reported that Mujeeb might very well miss the 2 matches within the Australian capital as the concerns regarding the coronavirus have not been dealt yet.

During a statement given by Terry Svenson the Queensland Cricket CEO as he addressed that the well being of the player and the integrity of the competition will be properly taken care of as they work with the relevant authorities.

Keeping in mind the well being of Mujeeb all the other health and safety protocols will be followed keeping in mind the wider community as said by Alistair Dobson.
Safety of all the players and members and their health will be given a top priority this season. The Queensland Government protocols will be followed anyhow till he recovers as Mujeeb and Brisbane Heat have their full support.
