CP Joshi

Senior Congress leader CP Joshi has defeated Ruchir Modi to win the elections for the post of president of Rajasthan Cricket Association. The elections were held on 29th may and the results came out today, following a high court order. CP Joshi won with a difference of 5 votes. He got 19 votes as compared to 14 for Ruchir Modi.

FYI, Ruchir Modi is the son of ousted Lalit Modi, who has been suspended from RCA. Lalit Modi is currently in exile after being probed for possible money laundering links.

The news came as a relaxation for CP Joshi. He had to withdraw from the elections last year after getting dejected by his own supporters. Lalit Modi won the election last year, however, the high court of Rajasthan and BCCI did not let him take the position.

In the elections, post of secretary was won by Rajendra Singh Nandu, whereas, Pinkesh Jain won the post of treasurer. Another congressman Mohammad Iqbal got the post of vice-president, whereas, KK Nimawat was elected to be the executive member.
