Cricket Legends AB DE Villiers, Alastair Cook, and Neetu David were honored and they were inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
The ICC Cricket Hall of Fame recognizes the achievements of the legends of the game along with their illustrious history.
The award was first introduced on January 2nd, 2009 by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai.
AB DE Villiers
Abraham Benjamin de Villiers, the former South African cricketer, was born on 17th February 1984.
In 2004 he debuted for South Africa in a test match against England.
Since then, in his 15 years of international career, he has always been an important part of the team and also captained the team in all three formats.
Also known for his shorts across the ground, he was given the name of Mr. 360.
He dominated the entire game in his era and was also addressed as the greatest cricketer in the history of cricket, and the best batsman in his era.
He held the number one ranking in Tests and ODI for a long time, more than anyone else of his era.
With outstanding performance and 360-degree shots, he was also chosen as the ICC ODI Player of the Year three times in his international career.
Alastair Cook
Sir Alastair Nathan Cook, the former captain of the English team in Test and ODI, is also inducted into the Hall of Fame.
He was born on December 25th, 1984, and debuted for England against India on 1st March 2006.
Cook had an international career of 13 years, and he was also considered the greatest opening batsman in Test cricket.
He is the sixth-highest test run scorer of all time and the second-highest run-scorer for England ever.
Neetu David
Neetu Lawrence David, born on September 1st, 1977, is a former Indian cricketer and current chairperson of the selection panel of the Indian women’s team.
She debuted for India in the year 1995 and played for India for 14 years and appeared in 10 test matches and 97 ODIs.
She holds the record for the best bowling figures in the Women’s Test Innings of 8/53 against England.
Her bowling figures were even better in a match that was 9/90, but she lost the match by two runs.
