First, it was Rahul Dravid and then Sourav Ganguly, the Veteran Indian batsman and the former skippers of Indian Cricket team had been scanned under the Conflict Of Interest clause.
Last year, It was Rahul Dravid who got examined for the conflict of interest. In the year 2018, in which Dravid was coaching the U19 National Team was asked to do the commentary with Ravi Shastri. But later, the idea was denied by officials as they doubted him for Conflict Of Interest.
A few days ago, the former skipper of Indian cricket Sourav Ganguly came under the Conflict Of Interest, As he was the Chief Advisor of the Delhi capitals’ team. Besides this, he was also holding the position of president of Bengal cricket. Three Bengali people registered a complaint against him regarding this issue.

The matter of Sourav Ganguly has been sent to the BCCI ombudsman Mr. DK Jain. The matter is currently being examined. And the verdict is yet to come

Not only these two cricketers who fell for Conflict of Interest, but there are also many incidents of this clause which happened in the past in Indian Cricket. Previously, Chandrakant Pandit, a successful Ranji coach, was offered Indian Women’s coach job but he has rejected as runs a cricket academy in Mumbai.

Beside this Pravin amre, former Indian cricketer who also became the victim of this clause as 2 years ago, he had to leave the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) as he was an employee with then Delhi Daredevils (Now Delhi Capitals).

All the verdicts happened because BCCI signed a contract which stated, “ONE MAN ONE POST” under the guideline of LODHA COMMITTEE. It stated that those who are on their payroll cannot be part of any other coaching or commentary assignments.

FOR THIS, COA (Committee of administration) will likely to reconsider the situation with Supreme Court amicus curiae PS Narasimha and will likely to make amendment in this clause of, Conflict of Interest.

Moreover, many experts feel this that move is anti-Indian as many foreign players are allowed to do a dual role. In a t20 domestic league of England, Coaches are allowed to do commentary despite being the coach of a team. Moreover the veteran Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag was allowed to do commentary for star sports despite being the coach of the KXIP.

The board has to add some amendment as the income source of any retired player either came from the coaching or doing other stuff like commentary.
