The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region Qualifier A is going on.
Match Details
The fifth match of the qualifier was between Samoa and Vanuatu.
Samoa won the toss and elected to bat first.
Samoa Innings
Sean Cotter and Daniel Burgess opened the innings for Samoa.
Darren Wotu didn’t let them settle, as in the first over, he took Sean’s wicket.
In the next over, Daniel lost his wicket as they started to lose quick wickets.
Darius Visser started to play an important inning as he was hitting outstanding shots.
Going on, he soon completed his half-century and kept on going.
He created history in the 15th over as he smashed 39 runs in a single over.
In the first three balls, he smashed three sixes, as the fourth ball was a no-ball.
In the fifth ball, he again smashed a six, as the next ball was a dot one.
Then Nalin Nipiko bowled two no-balls and smashed a six in one of them.
And in the last ball, he again smashed a six and broke the record for the highest runs in a single over.
By that time, he had also completed his century and played an innings of 132 runs.
With the help of his innings, they made a total of 174 runs.
Tim Cutler took three wickets, while Darren and Nalin took two wickets each.
Vanuatu Innings
Nalin Nipiko and Junior Kaltapau opened the innings for Vanuatu.
Noah Mead took Junior’s wicket in the first over.
Andrew came in to bat and he and Nalin handled the innings for a while.
They handled the innings for a while as Finau took the wicket of Andrew.
Nalin kept going from one end and was scoring runs.
He soon completed his half-century as wickets were falling from one end.
Short innings came from Joshua and Tim in the end.
But in the end, they weren’t able to chase down the total.
They lost the match by 10 runs, as Douglas took three wickets and Daniel took two wickets.
