The top two teams on the table, Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals are competing against each other to be the first team to reach the finals.

Gujarat Titans, the new team in the IPL, were well prepared to give a tough fight and reach the finals in their first season.

Rajasthan, on the other hand, only won one IPL title in the first season. Having qualified for the fourth time in the playoffs, including this season, they surely will be looking to reach the finals and achieve the IPL title.

The Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first, calling the Royals to bat and setting up a score. As the openers came out to bat, all eyes were on the orange cap holder, the man in the form– Jos Buttler. He was looking good after knocking two fours in the first over itself, but RR got their first breakthrough in the next over in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Great shots started to come from Sanju Samson as he raised the heat of the first semi-finals. The partnership of 68 runs between Buttler and Sanju covered the loss of the first wicket that they lost in the first few overs.

While trying to achieve his fifty with a cracking six, Sanju lost his wicket, giving an easy catch to Alzarri Joseph near the boundary. Then the Jos Buttler show started as the man in form started to hit long boundaries and soon completed his half-century. The magnificent knock of 89 runs made their team achieve a total of 188 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Now, it was time for the batsmen of GT to chase down the runs scored by RR to reach the finals of IPL 2022. They lost their first wicket in the first over in the form of Wriddhiman Shah. Then Shubham Gill and Matthew Wade took the responsibility and started to form a partnership. They both set up a partnership of 72, as when due to miss-communication, Gill got run out, and soon enough, Wade also lost his wicket.

The entire game was on the shoulders of Hardik Pandya and David Miller. Both of them were looking in good form while batting together as they started to hit some great cricket shots and chase down the runs. David Miller completed his fifty runs.

In the last six balls, there were 16 runs required. David Miller finished off in style by hitting three back-to-back sixes and making their way to victory and their team’s reaching the finals.

At last, David Miller was elected as the Man of the Match.
