After Pakistan beat New Zealand in a thriller to make their way to the finals, it was time for England and India.

Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals despite initially lacking form and a desire to win.

In the semi-final, their starting eleven performed outstandingly, and they qualified for the finals on Sunday in Melbourne.

After the first semi-final, it was time for the second semi-final between India and England.

Match Details

India and England have played three head-to-head matches.

India has been dominant, winning two out of the three matches.

This will be their first match in a T-20 World Cup after 10 years.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first.

India Innings

KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma opened the innings for India.

KL hit a cracking four in the first bowl, showed great class, and came back in form.

Chris Woakes didn’t waste any time in dispatching him in the next over.

Rohit and Virat took over the innings from there.

Jos Buttler was using his bowlers well, as they weren’t letting the great Indian batting line-up score runs.

Virat Kohli’s fifty made him the first batsman in T-20I history to reach the 4000 run mark.

He became the top scorer in this World Cup.

Aside from this World Cup, he is the highest run scorer in the T-20 World Cup.

Hardik Pandya came in as a saver after the wickets fell and the score was low.

The outstanding knock by him of 63 runs in just 33 balls, including four fours and five huge sixes, helped India achieve a respected total of 168/6.

This wasn’t a great total as England had their batting line-up until the eighth and ninth numbers.

However, it took a fighting total to regain momentum.

England Innings

Jos Buttler and Alex Hales opened the innings for England.

Jos charged from the start, with his cracking shots putting India on the back foot.

Alex and Jos continued with a run rate of more than ten.

None of the Indian bowlers were able to stop them from scoring runs or taking a single wicket.

They both soon reached their half-centuries making it easier to achieve victory.

They both single-handedly made England win the game and achieve the total in just 16 overs.

Alex Hales was awarded the trophy for Player of the Match.

England is going to face Pakistan in the finals of the T-20 World Cup.
