The Ashes series is played between England and Australia.

This series is also known as one of the best as it is played between the two most accomplished nations.

The Ashes series started on June 16th, as the first test was being played from June 16th–20th.

The series will consist of five test matches that are going to take place in England.

Match Details

The first match started on June 16th, as England won the toss and elected to bat first.

England Innings

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett opened the inning for the England side.

They both started great when Josh Hazlewood gave them an early breakthrough in the form of Ben.

Ollie Pope came in to bat as he and Zak formed a small partnership.

Ollie soon lost his wicket, and Zak completed his half-century.

Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazelwood were giving breakthroughs to the English team.

Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow handled the situation, and they started to form an important partnership.

Their partnership started to stabilize the inning for the English team.

Joe soon even completed his half-century and kept the momentum going.

Jonny also completed his half-century, and his knock of 78 runs added valuable runs in the inning.

Nathan Lyon took his wicket too, as Joe completed his century.

The English team declared their innings by the end of day one with a score of 393/8.

Nathan Lyon took four major wickets, and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets.

Australia Innings

David Warner and Usman Khawaja, the Aussie openers, came in to bat the next day.

Stuart Broad took two back-to-back wickets, of one of the openers David, and then Marnus.

He gave two breakthroughs to the Australian team to push them back.

Usman kept on going as on the other end, batsmen weren’t able to make big scores.

Usman soon completed his half-century, as Travis was also playing well.

Travis, after that, completed his half-century as he lost his wicket to Moeen Ali.

Usman and Alex handled the situation as Usman completed his century and Alex completed his half-century.

By the end of day two, the Australian team had a score of 311/5.

Australia is trailing by a margin of 82 runs as day three starts today.
