After a terrific performance against South Africa in their last league match, India have reached the semi-finals. They will now have to defeat Bangladesh on 15th June to get into the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

On Monday, the Indian High Commission hosted a function at the Lord’s Cricket Ground to mark the UK-India Year of Culture. Virat Kohli along with some teammates including Dhoni and coach Kumble were also present at the function. On the occasion, Kohli said that the league phase is the toughest. “It would not have mattered who we were playing in the semis. The league phase is the toughest. We have an opportunity to win one game and enter the finals. Everyone wants to see an India-England final. If both teams play well, people might get what they want to see,” he said.

Captain also added that whichever team they have to play against, they would be just happy to be in the finals. He also mentioned the massive crowd support they get wherever they play and it feels good.

The reception was attended by many former Indian as well as English cricket players.
