Circuit de Monaco has been a special track for drivers as the margin of error is very low here. In the last qualifying session, we again witnessed how cruel this track could be if pushed extremely hard when RedBull driver, Sergio Perez, lost control of his car and crashed just before the tunnel’s entry. Soon he was joined by Carlos Sainz who was looking a lot better with his Ferrari after a really long time. The Spaniard tried every possible way to dodge Sergio’s RB18 but couldn’t.

Red flags were introduced and the session ended locking the front row for Ferrari as both Leclerc and Sainz already clocked better lap times when compared to RedBull’s Perez who grabbed P3 and Verstappen who had to settle down with P4 after the nasty crash of Sainz and Perez just before him. Verstappen was even struggling with his car beforehand and therefore, chances of clocking a better time were really low.

Talking about Mercedes, the improvements that were there in Spain couldn’t help much. The bouncing at the rear end due to the stiffer suspension and low ride height was the primary reason why both the British drivers struggled throughout the practice and qualifying sessions. At last, George Russell stood at P6 while Hamilton with a lap time of 1:12.560 in Q3 had to satisfy with P8.

McLaren driver Lando Norris has been quite consistent this season although his teammate Daniel Ricciardo (P14) is struggling a lot. As soon as the Q3 ended, Lando managed to lock the third row with George Russell. Surprisingly, Alpine is looking really strong this year and that’s the only reason why the former World Champion, Fernando Alonso, managed to bag P7 while his teammate Esteban Ocon just managed to remain in the top ten. Even Alonso crashed his car at the end of the session and that would be interesting to watch how his team mechanics manage to revive the car.

Vettel has also managed to be in the top 10 and was better than Ocon in Q3. For better understanding, let’s take a look at the qualifying result down below.
