Aston Martin F1 Team has confirmed that Sebastian Vettel will not be able to take part in the upcoming race this week. The German driver was tested positive for COVID-19 just before the Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 and as per the sources, a negative report was still awaited until the team decided to go with Nico Hulkenberg.
If you remember, Hulkenberg even raced for Aston Martin in the opening race held in Bahrain alongside his teammate, Lance Stroll. Sadly, both AMR22 drivers failed to score that they might be targeting this week at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The team also confirmed that Vettel will return to the track for the Australian Grand Prix 2022. But before that, they want him to recover fully as the expectations are high from both the drivers this time. As scheduled, the event about to happen in Australia will take place between April 8th to 10th.
#SaudiArabianGP Update:@HulkHulkenberg will practice, qualify and race alongside @lance_stroll.
Despite lack of mileage in the #AMR22, Nico coped well in Bahrain and we are sure he will do likewise in Jeddah.
