IND wins Hardik PandyaIndia wins against England

India played the first tri-T-20 series match against England on July 7th at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground.

India won the toss and elected to bat first, setting up a high-scoring match.

Rohit Sharma was back in the squad after recovering from COVID and taking the captaincy.

First Innings

Rohit and Ishan Kishan opened the innings for IND. There were cracking fours from Rohit’s bat from the start itself.

He tries to punch the ball away but gets an edge as Jos Buttler pouches it cleanly.

Despite the loss, the batsman kept going with the big shots, and Ishan lost his wicket soon as there were already two massive sixes in the over. Apart from that, he lost his wicket for an unwanted shot.

The short knocks by Deepak Hooda and Surya Kumar Yadav made the innings even big and gave IND a lead towards a big total.

IND lost their four wickets for a total of 126 runs as Hardik Pandya came to bat. The outstanding fifty by him made the total big.

At the end of the first innings, IND made a total of 198 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

Second Innings

It was time for ENG to chase down the runs. As the openers came to bat, they lost their first wicket in the first over itself.

Pandya was in some other form. After taking the first wicket, he took two wickets in an over and gave ENG breakthroughs.

The ENG batsman could not stand long in front of the bowlers despite losing four of their wickets for a total of 33 runs in the first six overs.

Then came a ray of hope as the partnership of 61 runs by Harry Brook and Moeen Ali gave a bit of relief to the ENG side.

Rohit gave the charge to break the partnership to Yuzvendra Chahal. He didn’t disappoint the captain as he took both of their wickets in the single over itself.

Pandya took four major wickets of the English team, and Chahal and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each.

IND took all the wickets of the ENG team for just a score of 148 runs as they won the match by 50 runs.

At last, Hardik Pandya was named the Man of the Match for his outstanding knock and taking four wickets.
