Historic Comeback: Punjab Kings qualify for the playoffs after a long wait of eleven years.

Under the great captaincy of Shreyas Iyer and the brilliant, outstanding performances by all the players, they ended the drought of not qualifying for the playoffs.

They didn’t just qualify but have also marked their dominance and are being counted as one of the main contenders for the IPL trophy.

Match Details

After the short break, because of the problems between India and Pakistan, the IPL started again.

The first match between RCB and KKR was abandoned due to rain.

The next match was set to be played in Jaipur between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

Shreyas Iyer, the captain of Punjab Kings, won the toss and was elected to bat first.

Punjab Kings Innings

Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings for PBKS.

Tushar Deshpande didn’t let them settle and took the wicket of Priyansh.

In the next over, Mitchell lost his wicket, followed by Prabhsimran’s wicket in the third over.

Nehal Wadhera handled the innings with Shreyas and started to add runs to the total.

Riyan Parag soon took Shreyas’ wicket, and Shashank Singh walked in to support Nehal.

He completed his half-century, and with the knock of 70 runs, he powered the total.

And with the ending knock of 59 runs by Shashank, PBKS took a total of 219 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Rajasthan Royals Innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi started great for the RR.

Harpreet Brar broke their partnership and took both of their wickets while adding great runs in the chase.

After the loss of their wickets, the upcoming batsmen weren’t able to score many runs.

Dhruv Jurel only played a knock of 53 runs as the rest of the batsmen lost their wickets at low totals.

In the end, they were only able to score a total of 209 runs and lost the match by 10 runs.

Harpreet Brar took three wickets, and Marco and Azmatullah took two wickets each.
