HS Prannoy

According to the latest released BWF world rankings, Indian shuttler HS Prannoy has climbed six places in the list to be at the 17th position, all thanks to his US Open Grand Prix Gold title victory. Parupalli Kashyap, who was also a finalist in the US Open has jumped 12 places to be at the 47th spot.

Sameer Verma has also climbed 4 spots to be at the 28th position. He is one of the four Indians to qualify for the World Championship. Ajay Jayaram is on 16th rank, while B Sai Praneeth is on the 19th spot.

Kidambi Srikanth, who recently bagged two back-to-back Superseries titles is the highest ranked Indian at no.8. With HS Prannoy improving his position, India now has four men in the top-20.

In women’s category, PV Sindhu is still on 5th rank while Sania Nehwal has dropped a spot to be at number 16. In mixed doubles, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy dropped three places to lie at the 20th spot.
