The ICC Champions Trophy has now taken an interesting twist. Everyone was hoping that India will be the first team to qualify for the semi’s from Group B after easily defeating Sri Lanka. But all proved to be wrong and Sri Lanka registered an unexpected victory against the defending champions. Now India will have to win their next match in order to qualify for the semi-finals.
India vs South Africa match is on 11th June. Till then, India needs to change their strategy and improve their fielding department. Bowling is also a matter to worry since the last match against Sri Lanka despite of having the most dangerous bowling attack in this tournament. Sri Lanka didn’t seemed to be afraid a little bit from the bowlers and gave them headache instead.
According to Kohli, “You trust your bowlers to control runs. I thought we bowled pretty well. They just did not lose any wickets. If two guys aren’t executing their lines, it becomes difficult.”
On batting, Kohli’s thoughts were, “From a batting point of view, I thought we paced it well. Maybe you think of phases you could have accelerated,” said Kohli, “Maybe we’ll have to push for that extra 20-run cushion.”
