SRI LANKA: Sri Lanka Cricket Board who announced their World Cup squad for the World Cup 2019, shocked everyone by their team combination.

Dimuth Karunaratne, who played his last ODI match back in 2015 against England will lead the Sri Lankan side in this year’s World Cup. While the wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Chandimal who has been one of the most successful cricketers for Sri Lanka has been left out. While Niroshan Dickwella who was Struggling in South Africa has been axed from the squad.

While the good news for Sri Lankan team is that their in-form batsman Angelo Mathews who scored 227 runs in four innings, including a century and a fifty in Super Provincial One Day tournament is back in the team.

While the stand-in captain Lasith Malinga has been added to the squad but as a normal player. While selectors showed some faith on Kusal Mendis and Dhananjaya De Silva who wasn’t looked that impressive in the ODI series against New Zealand and South Africa.

Moreover, Kusal Perera also made it to the World Cup Squad. who underwent treatment for his hamstring injury, sustained during the tour of South Africa, has been passed fit and is expected to take the gloves instead of Niroshan Dickwella.
