The ICC Qualifiers for the World Cup started on June 18th in Zimbabwe.

Ten teams were participating and were divided into two groups.

Starting from the first match between Nepal and Zimbabwe, the tournament has now found its top six.

Qualifications

Zimbabwe, the Netherlands, and the West Indies have qualified for the super six from group one.

The journey between Nepal and the United States of America came to an end in Group 1.

Sri Lanka, Scotland, and Oman qualified from group two for the super six.

Ireland and the United Arab Emirates’ journey ended in the qualifiers from Group 2.

Group A

Zimbabwe is likely to be the team to qualify for the World Cup.

They beat all the other teams in the group and ended up in the first position.

The Netherlands marked their name in second place as they won three matches.

The match between the Netherlands and West Indies ended in a draw, and in the super-over, the Netherlands won the match.

West Indies came in third place as they lost against the Netherlands and Zimbabwe and won against Nepal and the United States of America.

Group B

Sri Lanka is the table-topper for Group B, as they won against all the remaining teams in the group.

Scotland attained the second position in the group, as they lost only against Sri Lanka.

The third position was secured by Oman, which won against Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.

Ireland only won a single match against the UAE, as the UAE didn’t win a single match.

They both got eliminated from Group B as the top three qualified for the next stage.

Teams

Sri Lanka is at the top of the six teams, followed by Zimbabwe, Scotland, the Netherlands, the West Indies, and Oman.

The matches of the top six will start on June 29th, as the first match will be played between Zimbabwe and Oman.

All the teams will play against each other and, accordingly, qualify for the playoffs.

After the playoffs, the top two teams in the ranking will play the final on July 9 in Harare.

The top two teams will further qualify for the World Cup to be played in India.
