Kuldeep Yadav celebrating after taking wicket

Second ODI proved to be fruitful for Ajinkya Rahane, who was not in the playing-11 for Champions Trophy squad, as he smashed 103 runs off 104 balls. The Indian team thrashed the hosts by 105 runs. New comer, Kuldeep Yadav showed his worth as he became the highest wicket taker from the Indian side.

Batting first, Indian openers, who are in a tremendous form started well for the team contributing to a 114 runs partnership. Shikhar Dhawan again displaying his explosive form played a fast innings scoring 63 runs off 59 balls. Captain Virat Kohli also played a good knock 83 runs in 66 balls. Till the end of 50th over, Indian team had put a big score of 310 runs in front of the opponents. From the West Indies, Alzarri Joseph picked 2 wickets while Jason Holder, Ashley Nurse and Miguel Cummins got one wicket each.

Things didn’t start well for West Indies as they as they lost two early wickets under 4 runs. And after that, no partnership wen’t well enough to chase the score. Jason Mohammed though score 81 runs, but no one was able to join him for long in the run chase. From the Indian side, Kuldeep Yadav did really well picking three wicktets and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged two wickets in his account. Hosts were only able to make 205 runs and hence India won by 105 runs.
