India Advances to the Finals of the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2024 in China
Six teams are participating in the tournament: India, China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and Pakistan.
The tournament kicked off on September 8th, with each team playing against the others in a round-robin format.
India has advanced to the finals, which will be played today, September 17th, at 3:30 PM, where they will face China.
India vs. China
India played their first tournament match against China on September 8th, with the game starting at 6:00 PM.
The Indian team had a strong start, with Sukhjeet Singh scoring the first goal just 1 minute and 50 seconds into the first half. In the second half, Uttam Singh scored the second goal at 3 minutes and 53 seconds. India continued to dominate, scoring another goal in the third quarter, eventually winning the match 3-0.
India vs. Japan
India’s second match was on September 9th, where they continued their excellent form.
Abhishek and Sukhjeet scored two early goals, giving India the lead. In the second quarter, India added another goal.
Japan tried to mount a comeback with a goal in the third quarter, but India sealed their victory by scoring two more goals in the fourth quarter, winning the match 5-1.
India vs Malaysia
India faced Malaysia in their third match on September 11th. The Indian team delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Malaysia 8-1.
India vs. Korea
In their fourth match on September 12th, India took an early lead against Korea, scoring two goals in the first quarter.
Korea pulled one back in the second quarter with a goal in the 49th second, but India scored again in the third quarter, securing a 3-1 victory.
India vs Pakistan
India’s last league stage match was against Pakistan on September 14th. India took an early lead in the third minute, but Pakistan equalized two minutes later.
In the second quarter, captain Harmanpreet Singh scored to restore India’s lead. India held on to win the match 2-1, booking their spot in the finals of the Asian Champions Trophy.
