India Clinches Consecutive T20I Victories over England.
England is on the India tour, consisting of five T20I and three ODI matches.
First ODI
The first ODI match was played on January 22nd at the Eden Gardens.
India won the toss and elected to field first.
Phil Salt and Ben Duckett Opened the innings for the English team.
Arshdeep Singh didn’t let them settle. In two consecutive overs, he took the wicket of both openers.
Jos Buttler came in to bat as he handled the innings and started to play a good knock.
Wickets kept on falling from the other end, and with the knock of 68 runs by Jos, England made a total of 132 runs.
Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets as Arshdeep, Hardik, and Axar took two each.
In return, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for India and started to hit boundaries from the start.
Sanju soon lost his wicket to Archer, and in the same over, Suryakumar also lost his wicket.
Abhishek kept hitting boundaries and soon completed his half-century with 79 runs. India easily chased the total and won the match by seven wickets.
Second T20I
The second T20I was played on January 25th in Chennai, and India won the toss and elected to field first.
Phil Salt and Ben Duckett Opened the innings for them as the opening again fumbled.
Jos played a short knock of 45 runs as other batsmen also soon lost their wickets.
With the short contributions by everyone, they made a total of 165/9.
In return, Sanju and Abhishek also failed to start their team well.
Tilak came in to bat as he handled the innings from one end, but wickets kept on falling from the other end.
He soon completed his half-century and was single-handedly taking India towards victory.
In the end, with his not-out knock of 72 runs, India also won the second T20I and took the lead by 2-0 in the five-match series.
