Third T20I

The third T20I took place on January 28th in Rajkot, where India won the toss and opted to field first.

England Innings

Phil Salt and Ben Duckett opened the innings for England. In the second over, Hardik Pandya dismissed Salt, bringing Jos Buttler to the crease.

Buttler and Duckett put together a brief partnership before Varun Chakravarthy took Buttler’s wicket. Meanwhile, Duckett completed his half-century but was dismissed in the following over.

A quickfire 43-run knock from Liam Livingstone helped England post a total of 171/9. Varun Chakravarthy was the standout bowler, claiming an impressive five-wicket haul.

India Innings

India’s top order struggled, failing to make a significant impact. Hardik Pandya was the only batter to play a decent knock, scoring 40 runs. The team was eventually stopped for 145 runs, handing England a much-needed victory in the series.

Fourth T20I

The fourth T20I was played in Pune on January 31st, where England won the toss and opted to field first.

India Innings

Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for India, but the team faced an early collapse as Saqib Mahmood struck thrice in the second over.

However, Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya steadied the innings, scoring half-centuries. Their 53-run knocks helped India reach a competitive total of 181/9.

England Innings

Phil Salt and Ben Duckett provided England with a strong start. However, Ravi Bishnoi broke their partnership by dismissing Duckett, followed by Axar Patel removing Salt in the next over. Debutant Harshit Rana also made an impact with his impressive bowling.

Harry Brook attempted to anchor England’s chase with a well-fought 51-run knock but couldn’t take his team over the line. England was eventually bowled out for 166 runs, falling short of the target. Ravi Bishnoi and Harshit Rana were the standout bowlers, both picking up three wickets each.

With this victory, India sealed the T20I series, extending their remarkable record of consecutive bilateral T20I series wins at home.
