India loses its 27-year-long series-winning streak against Sri Lanka.

For the past 27 years, India has been continuously dominating Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan team has not been able to win a single series against India since then.

The impeccable streak ends as India loses their second ODI against them.

Series Details

India won the T-20I series against Sri Lanka, and now it was time for the ODI series.

The ODI series consists of three matches that started on August 2nd.

First ODI

The first match was in Colombo on August 2nd.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.

Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando opened the innings for them.

Mohammad Siraj didn’t let him settle, as he took the wicket of Avishka.

Pathum stood as wickets were falling from the other side.

He soon completed his half-century as Dunith started to handle the Innings.

Dunith also played a great knock, as with his 67 runs, Sri Lanka made a total of 230/8.

For India, Rohit gave an outstanding start and soon completed his half-century.

No other batsmen were able to do much KL, and Axar played a short inning.

In the end, India couldn’t chase the score as the match got tied.

Second ODI

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.

Pathum and Avishka opened the innings, and on the first ball, Pathum lost his wicket.

Kusal and Avishka handle the wickets and form a short partnership.

The upcoming batsmen also played short knocks and were adding runs to the total.

In the end, they made a total of 240 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill opened the innings for India.

Rohit was playing an outstanding innings as he soon completed his half-century.

Shubman also played short knocks, but wickets were falling from the other end.

In the end, Axar tried to handle the inning and he played well.

India couldn’t win the match as they lost all their wickets to a score of 208.

Jeffrey took a haul of five wickets, as in total he took six wickets and Charith took three wickets.
