The India U-19 Women’s team reigns supreme once again, clinching their second consecutive ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title.
The India U-19 Women’s team came unbeaten into the finals and was all set to face the South Africa Women’s U-19 team.
Match Details
The finals of the second edition of the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup were to be played at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
South African women won the toss and elected to bat first.
South Africa Women Innings
Jemma Botha and Simone Lourens opened the innings for South Africa Women.
Parunika Sisodia didn’t let them settle in her first over, and in the second over of the innings, she took the wicket of Simone.
After that, the Indian bowlers started taking frequent wickets in short intervals.
Parunika, Shabnam, Aayushi, Vishnavi, and Gongadi were taking wickets one by one.
Their outstanding bowling took quick wickets as soon as South Africa lost all their wickets.
They lost all their wickets at a total of just 82 runs.
Gongadi Trisha took three wickets, Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma each took two, and Shabnam Shakil took one.
India Women Innings
G. Kamalini and Gongadi Trisha opened the innings for India Women.
They both started great as G. Kamalini lost her wicket to Kayla Reyneke.
Sanika Chalke came in to bat as she and Gongadi handled the innings.
They both easily took the India U-19 Women towards victory.
With this victory, India’s U-19 Women won the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup.
The India U-19 team won the U-19 T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time.
Niki Prasad, India U-19 Women’s Captain, said:
“Coming at the start of the tournament, I think I mentioned one thing we are here to dominate, we are here to make sure that India stays on top.”
“We are definitely going to create this legacy of winning ICC trophies, winning a lot of trophies for India,” she added.
