India Vs West Indies

Indian team after the defeat at the Champions Trophy final and losing the present coach was off to a new start with their first ODI against West Indies on 23rd July. Ajinkya Rahane was given a chance in the team replacing Rohit Sharma and also it was the debut ODI for youngster Kuldeep Yadav. India had their eyes on whitewashing the Indies as all the boys seem to be in pretty good form.

Match started with West Indies winning the toss and sending their guests to bat first. Opening pair, Ajinkya Rahane (62 off 78) and Shikhar Dhawan (87 off 92) did really well building a partnership of 123 runs hence giving India a strong start. Alzarri Joseph broke the partnership by taking the wicket of Rahane in the 25th Over. Kohli played not out for 39 runs while Yuvraj could not score much runs and was sent back to pavilion by Jason Holder.

Match was stopped in the 40th over when Kohli and Dhoni were at 39 and 9  respectively and later it as announced that the match could not be played due to bad weather.
