India vs West Indies 3rd ODI : India thrashes hosts by 93 runs

With Dhoni scoring 78 runs and making a comeback and Ajinkya Rahane outclassing the West Indies bowlers with his 72 runs, India registered a big win of 93 runs over West Indies. And with this defeat, the hosts have also lost the chance of winning the series as they have not won a single match against India in three matches. Though the opponents had an upper hand in the game at the start, India overcoming a bad start gave a target of 252 runs. However, West Indians were only able to make 158 runs in 38.1 overs before the Indian bowlers sent them all to their dressing room.

Winning the toss, West Indies opted to bowl first. Their decision was proving to be right as they sent Shikhar Dhawan (2 off 6 balls) and Virat Kohli (11 off 22). But Ajinkya Rahane was not in a mood to give up. He scored 72 runs from 112 balls playing a much-needed knock for the team. A crucial partnership of 66 runs between Yuvraj Singh (39 off 55 balls) gave stability to the Indian innings. Dhoni when came to bat, the score was 100-3. However, he had something for his critics who said that he doesn’t fit in the team now. Dhoni had a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and played an excellent knock of 78 runs in 79 balls and making a partnership of 70 runs with Ajinkya Rahane. From the West Indies side, Miguel Cummins took two wickets while Jason Holder and Devendra Bishoo bagged one wicket each. India finally managed to make 251 runs in 50 overs.

The West Indies team when came to chase didn’t have an idea that they would be sent back so early. The young boy Kuldeep Yadav along with Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets each displaying excellent bowling. Hardik Pandya took two main wickets of Kyle Hope and Shye Hope. Umesh Yadav and Kedar Jadhav got one wicket each. Highest scorer from the opponent team was Jason Mohammed who scored 40 runs. West Indies got all out at 158 runs and lost the match and also the chance of winning the series.
