After winning the test series India won the first ODI match against West Indies.

The test series consisted of two test matches in which India won one match and the other got drawn.

After the test series, it was time for the ODI series which consists of three ODI matches.

Match Details

The first ODI match was going to be played on July 27th at Bridgetown.

The India team won the toss and elected to bowl first.

West Indies innings

Brandon King and Kyle Mayers opened the innings for West Indies.

They both started to play slow as Hardik took the wicket of Kyle.

West Indies got their first breakthrough in the third over itself.

Brandon and Alick took the innings forward as Mukesh Kumar took the wicket of Alick.

In the next Shardul Thakur clean-bowled Brandon.

Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer took forward the innings.

The West Indies batsmen were not able to stand strong in front of the Indian bowling attack.

The legendary West Indies team who won several titles once were now not even able to score runs.

As the match went on Indian bowlers took all the wickets of the West Indies team at a total of 114 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets.

Hardik Pandya, Mukesh Kumar, and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each.

India Innings

Rohit Sharma sacrificed his opening position for Ishan Kishan.

The India team was trying to test the batsmen as Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill opened the innings.

Jayden Seales didn’t let them settle down for long as he took the wicket of Shubman.

Virat Kohli sacrificing his number 3 spot for Surya Kumar sent him to bat.

Surya Kumar played some classy shots, but he wasn’t able to turn the score to big.

Ishan went on to complete his half-century as the wickets were falling from one end.

The Indian batting line-up was not performing well, as they were losing wickets.

In the end, Rohit came into bat, and he and Jadeja made India win the match.

Kuldeep Yadav was chosen as the Player of the Match for his bowling figures of 4/6.
