India-Women starts their Asia Cup tour with a win

India Women kicked off the Asia Cup with a great win against Pakistan Women.

The Women’s Asia Cup started back in 2004 and has been going on since then.

Currently, the ninth edition of the Asia Cup has started and is hosted by Sri Lanka.

Out of the eight editions that were played, India Women won seven of them.

Bangladesh Women are the only team that won the Asia Cup apart from India Women.

They are the most successful team in the Asia Cup.

They have played all the finals since the start of the Women’s Asia Cup, and they have played all the finals to date.

In total, eight teams are participating in the cup and are divided into two groups.

Match Details

The second match of the Women’s Asia Cup was played between India and Pakistan.

The match was in Dambulla, as Pakistan Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Pakistan Women Innings

Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali opened the innings for them.

Pooja Vastrakar didn’t let them settle, as in the second over she took the wicket of Gull.

Sidra Amin came in to bat as she and Muneeba formed a short partnership.

Pooja broke their partnership as well and took the wicket of Muneeba.

The Indian bowling line-up wasn’t letting any Pakistani women settle down.

They were taking wickets at frequent intervals of time.

One by one, everyone was coming into bat and going back.

Going on, they took all their wickets for a score of just 108 runs.

Deepti Sharma took three wickets, whereas Renuka Singh, Pooja, and Shreyanka Patil took two wickets each.

India Women Innings

Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana opened the wickets for them.

They both gave an outstanding start to the Indian team.

They were both mainly dealing with boundaries and hitting amazing fours.

Syeda Aroob Shah broke their partnership as she took the wicket of Smriti.

In her next over, she bowled Shafali, but they had already brought India to victory.

In the end, Harmanpreet and Jemimah led India Women towards an easy victory.
