The India hockey team does it again as they claim the bronze medal.

For the second consecutive time, India has claimed the bronze medal in the Olympics.

This is the first time since 1972 that India has claimed consecutive medals at the Olympics.

The Paris Olympics 2024 has been a rollercoaster ride for the Indian team.

Many athletes came close to winning a medal but weren’t able to do so.

Team India had an outstanding tournament as they finished in second place in the pool.

In the quarterfinals, India won in the penalty shootouts against Great Britain.

Then the semi-finals were against Germany, as India lost the match 3-2.

Bronze Medal Match

India came into the bronze medal match by losing against Germany.

The Netherlands beat Spain in the semi-finals by 4-0.

So the bronze medal match was between India and Spain.

Spain started great, as they were dominating India.

They were going great as they got a penalty stroke and Captain Marc Miralles converted it into a goal.

Harmanpreet Singh, the Indian captain, brought India back in the same.

And by the end of the first half, he had converted a penalty corner into a goal.

As the second half started, India started to dominate Spain.

Going on soon, Harmanpreet again scored an outstanding goal.

India took the lead by 2-0, maintained that till the end, and won the match.

As India wins the bronze medal, the outstanding career of Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh ends.

He was the former captain of the India Hockey team and the Wall of India.

Sreejesh was the goalkeeper of the Indian team, he played the last match for India today.

This medal means a lot to him, as he now retired from the Indian hockey team.

He has played an immeasurable role for India in winning bronze medals in the 2020 and 2024 Olympics.

By this, India has in total of 13 medals in hockey, which is the most by any nation in the history of the Olympics.
