GRAHAM REID FINALLY APPOINTED AS INDIA'S NEW COACH

NEW DELHI: It will be tough to believe that from past 4 months Indian Men’s senior team is playing without their head coach. But according to some sources, it has been said that the former Australian hockey player, Graham Reid have been appointed as the permanent coach for the team.
There is a slight confusion regarding the salary of the coach, and for this, a report had been sent to the Sports Minister MR. Rajvardhan Singh Rathore. Further information will be added when we have a verdict from the minister.
In an interview with a famous newspaper, Sports Authority of India said that” All concerns have been addressed”.
Moreover, the newly appointed coach Graham Reid has asked for 15000$ and asked to allow him to visit his home, Australia around five to six times a year. This is the main reason why ministry was taking his time to give the green signal. It’s very hard for the board to give this much liberty to the foreign coach.

In context with this, the Sports Authority Of India had a meeting with Top Officials of Hockey India in which they shortlisted the name of the coaches. There are many applicants for the post but after waiting for too long Graham Reid was selected as the coach of India.

Since Harender Singh was sacked after the world cup, Hockey India has been searching for the new coach. After waiting for too long, HI (HOCKEY INDIA ) finally decided to hire Graham Reid, the 54-year-old Queensland who had also served the Australian team. It will be interesting to see, how players will cope up with the new coach.
