The Indian Women’s team qualified for the semifinals of the Women’s World Cup 2023.

After winning the first match against the Pakistan Women’s team, the Indian team counterpart got a good start in the World Cup.

The following matches of the Indian Women were against West Indies, England, and Ireland Women’s.

IND-W v/s WI-W

IND-W faced WI-W in their second match, played in Cape Town.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first.

Hayley Matthews and Stefanie Taylor opened the Innings for them.

The IND-W soon took the wicket of Hayley.

After that, Shemaine came out to bat. The partnership between them took West Indies to a total of 118/6.

In return, the Indian openers started great but soon lost their wickets.

The knocks by the middle order Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh made India win the match.

The Indian Women won the match by six wickets.

IND-W v/s ENG-W

The next match was against England at Gqeberha.

The Indian Women won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt opened the Innings for their team.

The Indian Women took the wickets of the top order soon.

However, the knocks by Bat Sciver-Brunt and Amy Jones took them to a total of 151/7.

Renuka Singh’s five wickets haul helped to stop them at this total.

Unfortunately, the women in blue could not chase down the total put up by England’s team.

Smriti Mandhana tried hard, scoring a half-century, but her efforts could not take India to victory.

IND-W v/s IRE-W

The final group stage match was against Ireland Women at Gqeberha.

Indian Women won the toss and were elected to bat first.

Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana opened the Innings for India.

Smriti soon completed her half-century and stayed on the field.

Her knock of 87 runs took India to a grand total of 155/6.

Amy Hunter and Gaby Lewis opened the Innings for Ireland.

India took the first wicket in the first ball itself as Amy got run out.

IND-WΒ took two wickets in the first over itself.

Rain interrupted the match, but India won the match per the DLS method.
