The skipper of Delhi Capitals has revealed that their star batsman Rishab Pant could miss one week of IPL due to a hamstring injury.

The incident took place during the match against Rajasthan Royals where Pant injured himself.

This had a major impact on the Delhi Capitals side as they lost the previous match against the defending champions Mumbai Indians which was a must-win match for both the sides in order to stay on top of the table but unfortunately, DC lost and are now on the second position in the points table.

In place of Pant, it is Alex Carey who will be taking his place in the playing XI.

Iyer spoke during the post-match presentation and cleared that they are not aware of Pant’s injury but the doctor has asked him to rest for one week and they look forward to having him back in the squad.

Iyer added that fell 10-15 runs short against the Mumbai Indians as they reached a significant target of 162-4 but the men in blue chased the target with ease and with 2 balls to spare.

He further added that 170 or 175 would have been better only if Stoinis would have kept going as he was hitting the ball pretty well. They look forward to improving these errors.

The skipper was not satisfied with his team’s fielding performance against the MI.

Iyer believed that the opposition was better in all the departments whereas they were not up to the mark on the field with certain misfields and dropped catches which they will want to work on.

The skipper feels there’s a lot of room to improve as they are seen as a top team in the IPL right now standing at the number 2 position.

On the other hand, the skipper of the Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma was quite satisfied with his team’s performance and the journey till now.

Rohit spoke on the occasion and said that those were 2 crucial points that they got. They have got the momentum and they look to accelerate with the same potential. He certainly believes that they did everything right but still can improve in some areas.

The skipper of MI believed that partnerships were really important and that factor got them over the line with 2 important points.
