It has been a tough time for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they are in a disastrous position. Another day brings another loss for them. It might be a frustrating thing as their bowling is still struggling. With this loss, they have now become the second team in the history of IPL after DELHI DAREDEVILS (now Delhi capitals) to lost their first 6 matches at the beginning of the tournament. In fact, the numbers get more frustrating as they have a losing streak of 7 straight matches (May 19, 2018, to 7 April 2019).
After winning the toss DC captain Shreyas Iyer, put Bangalore to bat. It was the worst start for RCB as they lost Parthiv Patel in the second over of the game. Kohli was joined by the crowd’s favorite AB de Villiers. Both the batsman were struggling to score quick runs. In search of that RCB lost AB de Villiers on the last bowl of the powerplay. Stoinis struggling inning came to end in the 11th over of the match. Moeen Ali was looking good and scored 32 of just 18 balls. Kohli was again alone warrior who was at that crease and before getting out he made 41 runs. Rabada bowled brilliantly and got 4 wickets. RCB somehow posted 149-8 at the end of their inning.
DC started in disastrous fashion as they lost the key wicket of Dhawan early. In the same over, Parthiv also dropped Shreyas Iyer when he was on 0. The young sensation, Prithvi Shaw scored 4 boundaries in Southee’s next over. The hope of all RCB fans were about to end as Iyer and Shaw put 68 runs for the second wicket. DC was making small partnerships which made their chase quite easy. Shreyas Iyer brought up his 11th fifty of IPL. In the last overs of the game, DC lost 3 quick wickets but that didn’t help them as they only required 4 runs at the final stage. DC comfortably crashed RCB with 9 balls remaining.
