According to a media release which was initiated by the franchise to reveal about the positive case in their camp. It was revealed that the Assistant Physio of their team have been tested positive. This can be considered as the 3rd team who will have a positive case in their camp as they join the unfortunate teams like Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.
The Franchise of Delhi Capitals have assured that the Physio is being taken care of and is under quarantine procedure that too away from all the other team members. It is reported that the Physio did not travel with the squad but traveled independently to the UAE. He was successfully tested negative on his first two tests after the arrival but the RT-PCR test which was the last test conducted on Day 6 was found to be positive.
The release further explained the Physio is completely isolated and is being taken care at the IPL isolation Facility in Dubai. The isolation period is determined to be of around 2 weeks. The procedure will be completed once he had test negative twice after the quarantine protocols. The team awaits his return and is in constant touch with the Physio and expects him to recover as soon as possible.
According to this year’s IPL norms and Standard Operating Procedure all the other members of the squad are expected to test themselves on the fifth day of each week till the tournament ends. There will be no stopping Delhi Capitals from any kind of forbidding in training as they look to build their squad for their first match in the IPL against the mighty Kings XI Punjab in Dubai on 20th September.
