According to several reports coming in from Cricbuzz it is believed that the 30 year old England batsman is set to miss IPL due to personal reasons.

The England batsman is also ruled out from T20 series against Pakistan due to a side strain but will be with the team to make sure that he regains full fitness before they face Australia. On the other hand the Australian left arm pacer Daniel Sams is introduced by the franchise in replacement of Jason Roy.

The left arm pacer from Australia is currently in England on national duty and will join his new franchise after the series. It is expected that Delhi Capitals will have to manage first 2 matches without the Australian bowler.

Sams who is going to be a part of the IPL for the very first time expressed his thoughts and feelings and demonstrated how huge platform IPL is for any cricketer out there in the world. He feels fortunate enough to be a part of this great league and is thankful to the Franchise of Delhi Capitals management to provide him with such wonderful opportunity. He is looking forward to join the rest of the squad who are already in the UAE.

This is not the first time that a player from England has pulled out from the Delhi Capitals team. Earlier it was Chris Woakes who had pulled out of the season to stay fresh and fit for the England summer. The franchise of Delhi Capitals have opened the gates for Anrich Nortje to replace the English player.

The absence of Roy would not affect the Capitals much as they have the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Alex Carey among the team. Not to forget the new player from Royals the mighty striker of the ball Ajinkya Rahane has made his way in the middle order.

The inclusion of Sams will benefit the Capitals as it will provide Strength to the pace attack of the team. The Australian pacer was the highest wicket taker in the Big bash league playing for Sydney thunder in the year 2019-20. He is also looking forward to make his international debut against England this year.
