Majority of the IPL franchises have initiated a request to the BCCI on conducting warm up matches before the start of Dream11 IPL 2020 which will begin on September 19.

Several Reports from InsideSport have confirmed that the Indian board is yet to give any response or commitment towards the request made by the franchises. The request will be taken into consideration once the IPL scheduled is firmly geared up.

Keeping aside the Franchises even the official broadcasters of IPL Star India have also shown keen interest in conducting few warmup matches before the start of IPL.

The warm matches will be played between September 11 to 16 only if there’s a green light from the BCCI.

The players are trying hard to get in shape through some intra-squad games and training but the franchises believe that the warm up games would make them absolutely ready for the IPL as they have not been a part of competitive cricket since a long time.

Out of the 8 teams in the IPL, there are around 5-6 teams who have requested the BCCI for organising warm up games. The board will be responding in a time span of 2-3 days.

Star India is also in favour of the warm up games and look forward on streaming the matches live on televisions and websites. They too await the decision of BCCI.

According to a report BCCI will try to avoid any sort of extra responsibility and will allow the teams to decide if they want the warm up games to take place or not.

On the other hand the IPL schedule is yet to be announced and it is taking much longer than expected. Still many reports have claimed that BCCI have assured to release the schedule within 1-2 days.
