This season of IPL 2020 is going to be a cracker of an event and is expected to beat all the previous seasons in terms of viewers. The multi million dollar league will begin on September 19 and will end on November 10. The entire event will be played in a bio-secure bubble but the many of the players have already decided to opt out of the tournament.

Here is the list of high profile players who have opted out of the tournament due to several reasons:

Suresh Raina – The most important assassin of Chennai Super Kings made his way out of the tournament due to personal reasons. The 33 year old had traveled with the squad to UAE but later on decided to leave for India. There were many assumptions regarding his departure but Raina made it clear that it was personal and not related to the CSK camp. On the other hand Raina assures his fans that they might see him in action again for the Chennai Super Kings, this could mean his return to the team soon.

Harbhajan Singh – Another Chennai player opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons. This was the second time that CSK had to deal with a departure of another senior and important player from their squad. This is going to affect CSK as the absence of Raina and Harbhajan will have a major impact on the field. Some other players who will have to step up and take responsibility on behalf of the spin department are Piyush Chawla, Imran Tahir and Mitchell Santner.

Jason Roy (Delhi Capitals): The 30 year old from England has been ruled out of the IPL due to an injury in a recent practice session. The England opener has been ruled out of the t20 series between England and Pakistan and now he will be out of the entire season of IPL as well. The Delhi Franchise has bought the player on his base price of 1.5 crores and now he is replaced by the Australian pacer Daniel Sams who will be a part of the team in this season of IPL.

Kane Richardson (Royal Challengers Bangalore)- Richardson was bought by the franchise of RCB for an amount of 4 crores during the auction of last December. The pacer had to be with his wife during the the birth of their first child and this is why he opted out of the tournament and the franchise have supported his decision.

Lasith Malinga (Mumbai Indians)- Lethal Lasith at the death is most consistent wicket taker for the Mumbai Indians. The 37 year old is the highest wicket taker in IPL history. Overall Malinga had opted out due personal family reasons. James Pattinson has replaced him in the squad.
