The unbelievable and gravity-defying catch that was pulled off by Nicholas Pooran on Sunday has made headlines. The KXIP youngster has stunned the cricketing world by his fielding. The player was however casual about his efforts on the field but got a standing ovation from Jonty Rhodes and appreciation from the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar as he called it the best save he has ever seen or witnessed.

According to a report from TOI where Pooran spoke about the training sessions with the Punjab team where they practice to take such catches every other day and this has helped him to the exact same thing on the field. He spoke on this the next day after denying Sanju Samson to hit a six by a diving full length over the rope for his team.

The youngster believes that it is Jonty Rhodes who has helped him to become a better fielder and the credit goes definitely goes to the fielding coach.

The 24-year-old further added that he has improved in the past couple of weeks as being a wicketkeeper it is normal for him to dive and jump but Rhodes has helped him to develop match awareness. The youngster believes that there is no substitute for hard work and he is ready for it. He is aiming to save as many runs for the team in this season of the IPL. On the other hand, Rhodes had conveyed the team that they had to put their bodies on the line during fielding because it is as important as batting and bowling.

Pooran believes that the team is quite optimistic even after a super over loss against the Delhi Capitals and a close defeat to the Rajasthan Royals.

The youngster finally said that there are ready to bounce back stronger as there are still 1 matches remaining and they have not done anything much wrong and they just need to close the games to get the 2 points.
