The Head Coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore Mr. Simon Katich reveals that AB de Villiers could keep wickets for their team in the upcoming edition of the Dream11 IPL.

There are only two other wicket-keepers in the squad including ABD and they are Joshua Philippe and Parthiv Patel. This makes it quite clear that ABD could the play the role of wicket-keeper for the RCB team.

Katich further explained about the decision that is being carried out by the franchise. As discussion have already been done among the team. ABD has a lot of experience in wicketkeeping through out his career for South Africa. He added that ABD has got a huge role to play apart from wicketkeeping as he has been doing it for RCB from the past few seasons.

The coach appreciated ABD by talking about his world class ability to perform anywhere around the world and the amazing tournament he has had where he bagged the 3TC competition. He kept his faith in him and said that he’s quite sure that ABD would be quite confident coming back and his love for the franchise cannot be measured. He is keen to see ABD perform with the bat and also behind the stumps.

The Head coach also involved the young man from Karnataka Devdutt Padikkal in his small talk where he mentioned about his potential debut in this year’s IPL. The young lad has already played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.

RCB had retained the youngster even before his domestic season had kicked off. Being a young 20 year old batsman with the ability to bat left handed as well made him a favourite among the team. To balance certain right-left handed batting combinations in the match, the young lad is found to be the best match.

The 20 year old is expected to get a chance in the practice matches where he will get an opportunity to prove himself.

The men in red will follow the lead of Virat Kohli and are set to begin their preparations of the tournament from Thursday. The tournament will begin on September 19 and will end on November 10. RCB has never lifted the trophy in the history of IPL.
